This is an 85-hour prenatal-postnatal yoga teacher training in accordance with the Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training standards of Yoga Alliance (YA) and designed to support the RPYT (Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher) pathway.

Led by Rachel Canterino, PT, DPT- yoga teacher (ERYT-500 & RPYT) and Doctor of Physical Therapy. Rachel is the creator of award-winning Prenatal Yoga & Postnatal Yoga programs serving the Main Line and Philadelphia area.

Best Beginnings wellness and yoga focused on women and babies. Our wellness center invites mothers, families, babies, toddlers and children from the Main Line and Philadelphia Area including Mongomery County, Delaware County and Chester County.

What to Expect

best beginnings is a safe space to learn and grow. Four weekends will be in person at our studio in Ardmore. Four virtual weeknight evenings, two class observations, as well as teach backs, readings, assignments, and a project are also part of the PYTT program requirements.

  • Weekends: January 8th- January 29th February 19th- March 5th, 2027

  • In Person Hours: Fridays 5:30-8:30pm, Saturdays & Sundays 1:30-6:30pm

  • Virtual Evening Hours: Four 2-hour sessions (dates TBD)

  • Syllabus & Readings: Provided prior to start of YTT

  • Pricing: $1400 prior to Oct 30th, $1600 after Oct 30th, Non-Refundable $250 deposit included in price of tuition

Learning Objectives

Learn how to design and provide thoughtful, trauma-informed and intentional yoga classes for people in all phases of pregnancy and postpartum. Create and teach an empowering and supportive prenatal and postnatal yoga class to women with a wide variety of physical and emotional needs. Apply safe yoga asana, meditation-mindfulness, and breathwork practices to support students physically and emotionally during the perinatal period. Adapt yoga poses and practices for pregnant and postpartum students participating in general yoga classes. Describe basic anatomy and physiology related to pregnancy, labor/birth, and postpartum recovery. Identify common physical and emotional conditions and changes that occur during pregnancy and postpartum, including healing and recovery. Learn, select and teach pranayama/breathwork techniques that are safe and supportive during pregnancy, labor and postpartum. Identify common pregnancy complications, contraindications, and situations that require modification or referral. Integrate and teach safe, supportive practices—including visualization, meditation, and birthing ball techniques—into yoga classes to support the changing body and prepare students for labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery. Successfully prompt safe and effective strategies and yoga asana practices for rebuilding strength, endurance and balance before and after childbirth.
